January
February
March
April
This is an ongoing series, started in January, and will continue until the year's end. The goal is to expand my artwork and center my focus on one illustration a month. Narrowing in on one notable moment or holiday each month gives me a loose enough brief to decide what to do but strict enough to not stray far from what I aim to achieve.

Happy New Year 2023
Illustration created in inspiration and excitement for the New Year. Aspiring to try new things, learn, and challenge myself.
The numbers went through a couple of design phases. Deciding between a static background design or aluminum balloons was a tough choice. Ultimately the balloons were used because they imply movement throughout the piece and provide a place for the eye to rest in such a colorful illustration.

Loving Bond
For February I wanted to focus more on the relationships we form rather than falling in love. Not wanting to reuse the same ideas, I narrowed in on the love pet lovers have for their animals and the shared bond they create.

Like A Woman
This month was difficult, March is mostly eventless besides St. Patricks Day and going along with my previous distinction about not wanting to fall for something done before I focus on the other holiday that month, International Womans Day.

Easter Bunny?
The focus for April was Easter. Not wanting to be stereotypical, I again wanted to stay away from the expected but still wanted it to be a cute drawing. So building off of some familiar animal inspiration I decided that an Easter cow was just cute enough to replace the Easter Bunny this year.
