In June, I spontaneously embarked on a nighttime excursion to Joshua Tree with friends. Departing at 6 pm, we arrived around 10 pm, exploring three different spots where we gazed at the stars. Afterward, we pulled out our cameras and spent thirty minutes capturing the night sky before moving on to the next location.

Starry nights in places like Joshua Tree offer a breathtaking view of the cosmos, away from the light pollution of urban areas. It's an excellent opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the universe and capture it through photography.

Taking the time to explore and capture the night sky at different locations allows you to notice variations in the landscape and the way the stars illuminate it. It's also a chance to experiment with different camera settings and techniques to capture the vastness and beauty of the night sky.

This was our second time doing astrophotography at Joshua Tree and we started to get an understanding of the timing and where were wanted to go. Not everything went to plan but it all worked out in the end. Since this was during the summer the galaxy was more visible so these pictures came out much brighter and look cooler than our previous photo run. Still, because of this the first location we visited was so packed full of people ad cars that all the photos we took were not coming out. However, this didn't dampen our spirit and we moved on early to the next location and had a blast. So much so that we went back again for some more fun, camping it old school too.
